Expanding my comfort zone

Hello! I'm excited to get writing, I absolutely love writing to all of you. This really helps me reflect on my week and allows me to easily express how I feel. Also helps with my typing skills in general. Let's get outta this intro though and get into it...

This week has been very eventful, none the less. I enjoy each and every day. With that being said it's also been a letdown at some points, some of the people we're teaching are not putting in hardly any effort towards being baptized. These people have been meeting with missionaries for over a year and say they want to be baptized, but just don't seem to get the commitment level they need to have. We invited both of them to be baptized cuz they were both feeling it. I'm supporting em every step of the way, they will get baptized sooner or later, they have good hearts.

This week has been rough with finding though, tons of people just turning into ghosts. Tons of lessons canceled or rescheduled. It's super good for me though, cuz that means I have lots more chances practicing introducing ourselves to others.

We got caught in some rain though, we had to make a 30 min bike ride back home and it started raining. The streets were full of puddles and our bikes were kicking up water on our backs. It was sucky at first but when our clothes were soaked, it couldn't get any worse so it was chill. The worst part was actually getting home, cuz we didn't want to get everything wet in the apartment, and changing out of wet clothes is not fun, in the slightest. My bag had a ton of dirt/sand on it. I had to smack it quite a few times to clean it off.

We also played some pick up ball at a park, it was super fun! The people there could really ball up, I didn't do too much, just got rebounds and played good D. We had a true hooper on our team, he really carried not gonna lie. The more we played the more intense it got, people started arguing calls and cussing each other out. It got to a point where me and my comp were just silent, we were like... "yeah... we gonna go after this"

We have a ward basketball night every Thursday, we use this as an opportunity to invite people we meet to come play. Not too many people come but if we can revive this thing it's gonna be supper hype! I'm practicing my handles and shots so I can pretend I'm good haha. People tend to listen more when they respect you, but by all means I don't need to be good to be respected... it's all about your attitude and how you respond to things.

Since we've been out on the streets so much I've witnessed some cool things and not so cool things. For instance, we heard a band playing in their garage and they were playing Jazz, they played very well, sounded amazing! got to play with awesome people in some more B-ball. I got to see this members gun, we visited them and they had tons of pistols and stuff. The one we saw was loaded with attachments, you couldn't even tell it was a pistol. Okay and uh.... the not so cool... we were just walking, someone was blasting music on their porch we look over and... we just see this man pole dancing.... on his porch.... um..... yeah.... "yeah, no, we're going this other way"

Other than that still love it, I cherish each and every day I have here, I love the work so much. Helps me learn and grow as well as others, what's not to love?

This week is....

-Fell through

A fairly simple one but I ain't never heard of this. It basically just means something that was planned to happen doesn't happen. Simple...

I wish y'all the best and hope you have a good week! Life is too much of a blessing not to enjoy it, so don't forget to Smile!

Until next time....
