Jeez Louise, Humidity...

Wahooooo! Another week on the grind, having fun, learning, improving, and serving the Lord. Sounds like a pretty dope week to me

To start things off, we got a new bishop, which is quite sad. We had Bishop Singleton for almost 8 years. I really wonder how it'll affect the ward. We went from an all black bishopric to an all white one, which obviously doesn't matter to me, unfortunately that image paints a different picture in others heads. It was nice seeing black people up there every week, especially for our friends we invite to church. Just gives a different environment.

Speaking of race a lot of people in our ward like to see a white and a black (I'm mixed but you get the picture... Hopefully haha) in a companionship, they honestly think it's better... because... a lot of people will not answer/harshly judge if 2 white people show up, and the same for 2 black people. We got one of both... I could go on and on but the point is people judge some a lot more than others, it's a shame people focus more on labels than each other. 

Anyways... different subject. This week was was so dang hot. The weather only said 90° but the humidity made it 100° plus. That's hot but now imagine biking over 15 miles in that heat. Yeah...It was like the road was an ocean with all the heat waves. I drank so much water that day. It was all worth it though, cuz at the end of the day we had a member meal. This member was a very good cook, she made cornbread, sweet corn with peppers, chicken wings, and really good homemade lemonade. We also had apples and strawberries for dessert. They were the sweetest fruits I've had in a very long time.

Other than that, this week has been pretty slow with regards to lessons. We were out and about a lot this week. which gave us an opportunity to meet a ton of people, none of which are very interested but to say none the less, they're funny and awesome still. 

This one guy we met was an interesting one for sure. He no joke was hitting on me.... yep I typed that right. He kept saying how handsome and cute I was, and went as far as to say "I want to go to church to see you" then He kept asking if we where gonna be there. Weird situation. The reason we didn't just dip is cuz this guy wasn't who we were looking for at this house. A lady was there, she was the owner of the house and actually protected us. She went off on him and told how he was being inappropriate and what not . Even said he had the devil in him, really she went all out.... we definitely dipped after that.

That brings us to P-day, I'm playing a lot of basketball and really just trying to improve and have lots of fun. Luckily I'm doing both! Today we actually gambled with basketball. We lined up and took turns making a half court shot. The last one to make it owed everyone else a Gatorade. Everyone taking a shot once was a round. If you make it you're done and safe. If everyone makes it in the round you reshoot cuz its a tie. Hopefully that makes sense. Believe it or not, it was really fun, I don't see myself as a shooter but I made quite a bit. Oh also you can double or nothing. If you just lost you play again... if you lose again then you owe double. If you don't loose you owe nothing.

I mean it's really just gambling but it was hype and fun. I came out with a -1... meaning, the ratio of my debt and what others owe me is -1.... I'm getting 5 but I owe 6.

Yeah we played a lot haha.

But in all seriousness I'm trying to get good handles and whatnot, I'm going to be a baller by the time I get home.

Blessed week this time around, I'm so grateful for all I have and all the experiences I've had. I love each of you and can't wait to see y'all again. And guess what? Don't forget to smile!!!

2. Our district car got its window smashed... yep we sure are in Memphis

3.chilling with Charlie after a long day (we got this stuffed horse 1 week for getting the most people to church. I don't know why we still have it... but we do.
